As a kid, Don discovered Kurt Vonnegut and found it delightful to read an author who was serious without sacrificing a playful sense of humor. In similar form, Don strives to keep his sense of humor in even the most serious of situations.
He is a huge fan of contemporary poetry, and there is little he loves more than to attend a really good reading. Some of his favorite poets include Tony Hoagland, Dean Young, Matthew Dickman, and Arda Collins.
