Community Relations Coordinator

Primary Source (PS) is seeking a full-time Community Relations Coordinator. PS is an agency that works for libraries and library support organizations to provide training, events, strategic planning, operational management, and other projects and consultation.
Job Scope
This position will coordinate communications and community relations for a national nonprofit organization.
Job Duties
- Develop communication strategies for annual appeals, campaigns, events, and programs
- Draft press releases, prepare quotes, and coordinate media interactions
- Collaborate on materials such as social media, brochures, newsletters, websites, and other content
- Liaise and coordinate communications with national and regional partner organizations
- Conduct research and data collection to identify community needs and trends
- Set up and maintain systems for material and campaign organization
- Respond to periodic high priority events outside of regular office hours
- Attend periodic off-site meetings and events
- Offer short presentations; analyze information; solve problems; other duties as appropriate
Required Qualifications
- Direct public relations or community relations experience, ideally 3+ years
- Skilled use of MS Office applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Skilled use of Google applications, such as Sheets, Forms, Calendar
- Demonstrated commitment to exceptional customer service
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Genuine appreciation for libraries
- Strong attention to detail
- Healthy sense of humor
Preferred Qualifications
- Expected or current Washington State residency
- Experience working with libraries, nonprofits, and/or professional associations
Additional Details
- $23+ per hour to start, depending upon experience

- Office is open Mon-Fri, 7am-5pm Pacific Time; hours and start date are negotiable
