Jean Charters
Jean first came to libraries when her local branch needed a person to tutor patrons on the use of the internet, email and online library resources. She found this provided her with a firsthand look at the user experience and helped develop her skills as an instructor.
Jean has worked as a frontline librarian, has provided community outreach and has taught many classes on using e-content. In her work for library IT, Jeanne was able to narrow her focus to creating positive user experiences in an online environment. As a library catalog administrator, she was able to work with a product that improved the catalog experience exponentially.

When Jean isn't working for libraries, she is busy volunteering for her local historical society, and is often cooking savory meals and pairing them with selections from her wine cellar. She can also be found cheering on the Seattle Seahawks, Mariners and Sounders. Jean feels that through sports, we have the potential to "learn from each other how to succeed with grace and survive defeat."
