Laurie has been passionate about books since learning to read. She discovered her love for editing as an undergraduate, which lead her to pursue a career in publishing. She worked for several years at a nonprofit publisher in Tucson, Arizona. Working for a smaller organization provided her a well-rounded experience, as she wore many hats and played a major role in every aspect of the business.

Laurie was born and raised in Arizona and has great love for the desert. However, after visiting friends and family in Washington a few times, she decided it was time for a change of scenery. She moved to Seattle in 2017, and, although she misses the desert, she couldn’t be happier with her new home.
