Na-Moya Lawrence, Administrative Assistant
Na-Moya grew up in libraries checking out too many books and bartering with her local librarians for more time to finish them all. In 2016, she graduated from Western Washington University with degrees in Creative Writing and American Cultural Studies. Her professional background in libraries began at the Center for Education, Equity, and Diversity (CEED) organizing professional development trainings for pre-service teachers. While there she developed a passion for improving processes and finding creative solutions to complex issues. She is dedicated to working with underrepresented communities, civic engagement, and empowering people to know their rights. She envisions a world where people are their very best selves and uses that as a guiding practice in her work.
Na-Moya has experienced firsthand how libraries facilitate access to resources, community, and joy and is excited for others to have opportunities to do the same. Na-Moya is a sucker for stories about intergenerational friendships, science fiction, and eating dessert for breakfast.
